Ok, new gripe: EPHEDRA. My gripe isn't against Ephedra, it's against the recent USFDA policy that has forced natural ephedra off the market. For those of you who are privy to such information or to those of you who don't pay attention or to those of you who just don't care about such things; here's the low down. There's been some publicity of late that indicates the illegal and unhealthy use of ephedra that has resulted in the demise of certain poor slobs. Evidently you can make the designer drug ecstacy (I don't even know if I'm spelling it correctly) from ephedra and people have been taking it to increase their metabolism in order to lose weight. Well, as human nature often goes, these seekers of a slimmer body have gone overboard in the use of ephedra and have increase their metabolisms so much that they've had heart attacks or strokes. So, my point is that due to the misuse by, what I would call, a minority of people, the responsible people who took ephedra as a decongestant are screwed.

Now, I have a twist to my gripe. Why is it that legislation could be passed to make it illegal to sell ephedra when it's still legal, and I would suggest very profitable for certain over the counter medication companies, to sell pseudoephedrine. Which, as the name implies, is a artificial (pseudo) form of ephedrine or ephedra.

It's all a conspiracy that's devised by corporate CEO's, sold and advertised by the media and implemented by our legislators. The backrooms of American, and probably elsewhere for that matter, are busy with conspiracies to ensure the profitability of corporations.

How's that for a gripe? and it's only Thursday.

I'm finally finding some time to blog. So here it is, not a gripe really, more like curiousity and the subject is: The Actor's Guild and Tobacco Companies.

What I've been wondering when will the Actor's Guild file suit against the Tobacco Companies or for that many any one company for taking from us some of the most talented and famous actors of our time. An example would be John Wayne, who died of lung cancer after smoking six packs of cigarettes a day for as long as anyone can remember.

I figure there has got to be some lawyer or lawyers somewhere who have sat around drinking coffee or Chivas and have kicked around the idea and figured out they could make a bundle. But, then again maybe they figure they'd be laughed out of court.

Anyway, these thoughts cloud my mind and I had to get it out.
